May activities - Badminton

The first activity for the last month of our project was to maeasure and compare the materials we used throughout the project. My class decided to weigh the balls of each sport, write down their findings and craft a hand-made graph to visualise the differences.

What is more, some parents prepared a sweet but also nutritious snack for our students with yoghurt, honey and biscuits! Delicious!

However, the main focus for this month was to get the students familiar with badminton. They watched a game and we talked about the rules. To make it more fun, we created some giant rackets and played for ourselves using colourful balloons. We had such a great time that we created our own racket with paper plates and tongue sticks to take home and practise!

Finally, I created an online matching game myself for the students to revise all the sports they got to know during the project. You can find it here:

April Activities

My foot on the ball
We started this month's activities with the students attempting to go through a course of obstacles before hitting the ball to score a goal.

Then, the students experimented with pendulums of different lengths while trying to escape it and pass the ball.

After that, through a talk, the students realised that the sports go hand in hand with healthy nutrition, e.g. fruit and vegetables. So, they showed their creativity by putting together different food pictures in order to make various collaborative portraits.

Finally, they draw a painting which, with the use of Animated Drawings and Canva, turned into an animated video.
